This year the Institut National Métiers d'Art (INMA) organised a special event to showcase the French 'savoir-faire' at Institut Français Royaume-Uni.
Lison de Caunes is a renowned craftswomen specialised in straw marquetry. She was the first one to reintroduce and revive the technique in France after a long sleep since it was used during the Art Deco period. Lison explained in great details her meticulous skills as well as the harvesting of the straws material used to achieve her beautiful craft.
